Deepika Padukone the first Indian celeb to be the face of Louis Vuitton Global campaign 2020

The French Fashion house and luxury retailer Louis Vuitton has picked Deepika Padukone as its new face for Louis Vuitton’s pre-fall campaign 2020.  Two days after being honoured with the Crystal award at the 50th edition of World Economic Forum in Davos 2020 for her contribution towards mental health, this versatile actress, added another feather to her crown by being the first Bollywood celeb to be featured by the world’s most iconic brand.

The campaign this year is themed on pulp horror, as depicted on film and in books. Deepika is among 25 boys and girls , who are posing as characters in fiction bestseller covers. Nicholas Ghesquiere, artistic director of Louis Vuitton Women’s collections, posted the look book on Instagram.

Deepika’s campaign is a poster of Michelle Gagnon’s thriller bestseller, Don’t Turn Around.

Louis Vuitton Malltier is one of the world’s leading international fashion houses. For six consecutive years from 2006 to 2012, Louis Vuitton has clinched the title of the world’s most valuable luxury brand.

Additionally, Louis Vuitton’s pre-fall 2020 campaign pays tribute to classic horror books and films.

Ghesquiere has been the creative director of Louis Vuitton since 2013 envisions to make it the world’s most iconic brand. The photo shared by the actress on her Instagram account featured her dressed and styled in the luxury brand’s pre-fall collection look.

The actress took  to Instagram and Twitter to share her poster with her fans. Dressed in checkered black and white dress with a grey oversize coat, a mini belt bag and a pair of statement turquoise boots, Padukone gave an effortless suave high fashion look. The campaign shows her posing in front of the poster of ‘Don’t Turn Around’ a fiction thriller by Michelle Gagnon.

Showing her gratitude the actress tweeted after sharing her picture saying “I am beyond thrilled to be joining the Louis Vuitton family! To be a part of Nicholas Ghesquiere’s vision for the world’s most iconic brand is not only exciting but also very humbling !’’

The Diva joined the roster of actors and models including Laura Harrier, Emma Roberts, Sophie Turner, Zhong Chuxi, Chole Grace Mortez and Urassaya Sperbund for LVMH creative director Nicholas Ghesquiere’s pre-fall campaign 2020.
