The film awards extravaganza can never be better than the Oscars 2020. The whole world was glued to their TV sets or smartphones to view live the six-hour telecast of the award ceremony. Needless to say, the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Centre was packed with the who’s who of global film fraternity, reality stars and high-fashion models not to be left out. But the 92nd Academy Awards was not without its misses. Here are some of the noteworthy ones: Continuing with the last year’s trend, Oscars went host less. But this ended up in adding to the confusion and it was felt mostly when a star appeared on camera to introduce another notable personality, who then introduced another famous person. Sounds confusing? Not just that. This whole thing forced people to sit for six long hours.  The best example of this was when Anthony Ramos who is a…

Lizzo won three of her…

What better way to kick-start 2020 in the Hollywood world than the Golden Globes? The glitz, the glam, the celebs, and the awards made its confluence at the 77th Golden Globes, honouring the best in television and film on January 6 at Los Angeles, California. The ceremony kicked off with Ricky Gervais opening monologue “I don’t care anymore.” The five-time Golden Globe host then went on to say “I am joking: I never did.”  The Golden Globes 2020 featured slurry speech by the winner of the Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama – Joaquin Phoenix for Joker (who also received a standing ovation so one can’t blame him for being a bit euphoric). Now, with 34 nominations in both film and television category, Netflix was in the race to win a lot of awards. However, the popular OTT platform went home with just two wins: Laura…

It is often said that sarcasm makes the world a better place, one insult at a time. This is a line that perfectly justifies the stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra — known for his bluntly honest remarks, edgy content, and pun-filled one-liners on topics like taxis, Bollywood, religion and, obviously, politics. Kamra is bringing his unique flair of humour to ITA Machkhowa in Guwahati on October 12, starting from 8 pm. Born in Mumbai, Kamra started his career as a stand-up comedian in 2013 by performing in a gig at the Canvas Club in Mumbai. Prior to that, his first professional show was at “Blue Frog” in the year 2013. It was probably his first stand-up comedy video on the year 2017 titled, ‘Patriotism & the Government’, that skyrocketed his career. Garnering both fans and avid haters alike, this video has got over 10 million views on his YouTube channel.…
